What Drives Weekend Work

Sun Nov 1, 2009, 4:10 PM
Ever wonder why people work on the weekends without overtime pay, without compensation (well, an extra $3k a year could be compensation)?

It is because you can code the hell out of a problem, build that query that requires time, and groove to remixes of Cascada's Evacuate The Dancefloor and Kevin Rudolf's album In The City.

Also, the tech is far better here than at work. Core2Duo E8500, 4gigs (yes, only 3.3gigs seen), High Def Audio, and PostgreSQL 8.4 on a Vista Home Prem with a score of 5.7. The Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and TrackMan Wheel mouse are both at work and at home, part of a comfortable setup.

Not getting paid isn't cool, but when you're off the clock, you answer to nobody but yourself, and you can spend as much or as little on a problem.

Lastly, on Friday (30th) I learned somebody is trying to get me for the holiday pollyanna, which surprised me however I know they are quite the schemer and planner so I have a little faith they know what they are doing.

hey there!
thanks a lot for adding me to your deviantwatch. D unfortunately there are only few people who notice me on da:-/
:iconbigdogweigand:
I saw the Blue Girl piece on the DA's Front Page of New Stuff. Liked your work, nice style. Especially liked the F-Cats and the Sam & Max pieces.

There are many ways to get noticed. Just play with the keywords used for pieces.

I'm on here more for ideas for websites than to submit and get noticed. Maybe one day for websites, but not right now
